There are people and memories that make up the patchwork of who we are. My professor Julie Blackstone passed away recently, but she has shaped who I am. This is her portrait as a young girl. She was famous for her portraits made entirely of French knots, which is why I included embroidery in this piece. I hope to make her proud.
