This is a monoprint, created by rolling ink onto a sheet of plexiglass and then wiping off white areas of the design with a cloth or paintbrush before placing damp paper on top and running it through the press. I did two color layers for this print. The lighter print is called a ghost print, which is created by running a second paper through the press.
This is a portrait of my Grandpa. He was a rodeo calf roper, trained horses, and later in life taught horse training to students. His brand is visible on his jacket in this print.
